Some places you visit.
Others stay with you.

Lutz & Co develops the concepts, identities and spatial stories behind retail and hospitality experiences that people remember long after they leave.

“The places that stay with us aren't accidents.”

Someone decided what they would feel like before a single wall was built or a product was placed.

That decision - the concept - is what we do. We work with founders and brands in retail and hospitality to develop the creative and strategic foundation that shapes everything downstream: the identity, the spatial language, the story a place tells before anyone opens their mouth.

The result is somewhere people don't just visit. Somewhere they come back to.

We work upstream

Before the architect draws a line or the designer opens a file, there are questions that need answering. What is this place really for? Who does it exist to serve? What should it feel like to walk in for the first time - and the tenth?

Those questions live upstream of design. They shape every decision that follows - and when they go unanswered, even the most beautiful spaces feel somehow incomplete.

That's where Lutz & Co operates. In the space between an idea and everything it becomes.

What we create

What we create

Concept Development

Where it all begins.

We define what your retail or hospitality project is really about - its positioning, story and aesthetic direction. The creative logic that holds every future decision together.

Some arrive with a half-formed idea. Others have momentum but lack a clear centre. Either way, this is where the work becomes real.

Space and Experience Direction

Where concept becomes physical.

We translate concept into atmosphere - material palette, spatial flow, sensory detail. That vision becomes the brief for architects and interior designers, so the physical space stays true to what originated it.

We work at the level of direction, not technical execution. The big picture, held carefully all the way to opening.

Creative Advisory

The outside eye.

When a project grows, the original vision can quietly drift. We work with founders and creative leads to pressure-test decisions and keep the concept honest - at a specific moment, or throughout.

Honest perspective. No agenda.

From concept to opening - we stay the course.

Our most rewarding projects are the ones where we're involved from the first conversation to the final walk-through. When concept, space and creative direction are developed together, the result is a place that feels completely coherent - because it was built that way from the start.

About

I am Laura Lutz and I've spent 14 years working at the intersection of brand, space and human behaviour - across global names like Marriott Hotels, Lululemon and LEGO, and alongside independent founders building something from nothing.

What that time taught me is that the best places aren't designed from the outside in. They're conceived from the inside out - from a clear understanding of what a place is for, the people it's built around, and what it should feel like to be there. That's the work I find most interesting. And it's where I've built my practice.

Lutz & Co is rooted in London's design culture and works with founders and brands across Europe and beyond - remotely, and on location when the project calls for it.

ONE'S DESTINATION IS NEVER A PLACE, BUT A NEW WAY OF SEEING THINGS.
